I understand your ideas. I came from a country that uncertainty in our language can be considered as politeness and sign of respecting others. Therefore, I think I am not really good at showing my opinion clearly. As my roommate, what do you think about that?

Your last sentence goes for me too. If I didn't listen to others opinions, I would only see from eyes and not see what other people thoughts are on a certai subject.

I think that is the way most people are in this world without listening to other opinions you wouldn't have the different perspectives in life.

Moral relativism is solely based on the opinion of the individual rather than a formed and agreed upon opinion by the whole of society. In the YouTube video, Sesame Street Sing Along: Getting Along (2010), the idea of moral relativism is introduced by suggesting that everyone should world together to get along. Kermit makes the decision that they should work together to have harmony rather than so many different sounds (conversations) at once. Moral relativism as in the book Hidden Worldview by Wilkens and Sanford (2009, page 86) the authors point out that its mostly a worldview to be kinder to those who we don’t necessarily agree with or a way to generally avoid being mean or harsh. Getting along is being able to be considerate of the differences, while moral relativism is avoiding the differences and to avoid the differences because its “nicer”. Wilkens and Sanford (2009, page 94) mentions that relativism won’t be able to exist without some type of standards, therefore there is no way that moral relativism can exist without some type of moral standards. I believe that people can get along by simply avoid the controversial topic because they would rather enjoy the time spent in “peace” rather than arguments.

For my behavior well and get along with everyone is important in our coexistence with society. However, in our life and in our environment there are people who may have different thoughts and the other different from another person. Then in our society we can find several conflicts because by not thinking in the same way this causes arguments. However, none of the thoughts or opinions are wrong, both are fully accepted. ''Some variations on relativism tell us what we should not do. However, avoiding evil is not the same as being morally good, nor is doing what is allowable the same as goodness''. (Wilkens & Stanford, 2009, Page 96).

In my opinion getting along means to find a point where we as humans can live with each other compromising, on the other hand the author of the book Hidden Worldviews implies that moral relativism is seen “as a direct assault on something as basic as truth, it is no surprise that the backlash against is fierce.”(Wilkens& Sanford, 2009. P.84.)

I like what you mentioned about moral relativism being unfair and unjust because it really is very unfair to everyone based on your opinions

I feel like looking at moral relativity as an emotional point of view instead of an intellectual point of view could be a good way to look at it.

Do you think that it makes a difference on how people react to others' worldview, if they have grown up in a diverse community rather than a small town where everyone is the same?

I think there is a difference because people who grow up in a diverse community are disclosed to different worldview everyday and they know how accommodate to peoples worldview, where in a small town there aren't several worldview so they don't know how to react with worldview they have never seen.

Getting along does not seem to be something that happens often in this world today when we have a difference in opinions. We have gotten away from accepting the fact that not everyone is thinks the same as us, not everyone worships who or how we worship. It seems that we always want to put our opinion in, or argue because someone says or does something different than how we do it. Personally, I do not believe that moral relativism is the right way to think in this world. That does not mean that I have a bad opinion of anyone who believes this. Hidden Worldviews states, "Relativism takes the easy way out because it creates the illusion that we don't have to do the lifting of supporting our ideas” ((Wilkens & Sanford,, 2009. Pg. 86). I agree with this because I do feel like moral relativism can take the easy way out. Although there are many different opinions and ways to live life, it is still a good idea to try and get along with everyone.

I mean, it's honestly a personal choice that each individual has to make, however there are ways to spread love and happiness. Maybe if those of us who would like for more people to get along, would be more open about not arguing or judging others who think differently, they would catch on and begin to see that life is much happier when we are not arguing.

There is a difference in moral relativism because getting along with someone and putting up with their worldview cause you have to is completely different. getting along with someone you dont agree with happens all the time in the world, its called respecting viewpoint. Relativism takes the easy way out because it creates the illusion that we don't have to do the lifting of supporting our ideas” ((Wilkens & Sanford, 2009. P. 86) it doesn't back itself up and is not the same at all.
